Lucy and Tom’s elegant day at Newcastle Cathedral and Otterburn Hall
Lucy and Tom were married at the end of the month last May. They are lucky enough to own a flat right in the center of Newcastle and so were able to be married in the stunning Cathedral a stones throw from where they live, The Cathedral Church of St Nicholas.
Starting my day with Lucy at her parents home, I was quick to see that there was a big fan of photography who lived here. In every room the walls were filled with family photographs printed to larger than usual sizes. I have often said that I believe that there are no more important photographs in this world than the photographs of people that you love, and this photographer clearly felt the same. The photographs were taken in the most part of course by Lucy’s Mum and featured her and her brother and sister growing up, on family holidays, family get together and other occasions. I was chatting to Lucy’s Mum later during the day about her photographs and the stories that she told me that accompanied them were beautiful, memories that will live forever because of the shots that she had taken and n0w treasures. For me, this really captures the essence of photography and how meaningful photographs can be. Photographs are personal, filled with memories and stories which will last for a lifetime, and displayed on the walls, they are to be enjoyed always. I know that if they haven’t been already, Lucy and Tom’s wedding photographs will soon be added to the collection on the walls of their family home.
Lucy and Tom were lucky enough to have a beautifully sunny wedding day. Lucy looked stunning as she walked down the aisle in a dress which looked as though it were personally designed just for her. The elegant ceremony was follow by a quick walk down to the Moot Hall for a few photographs before heading up further North to their reception at Otterburn Hall with their wedding breakfast held in the Hall’s permanent marquay.
Here are a collection of photographs to share with you from their big day and a few words from a thank you card sent to us after the big day from the lovely couple and a few more from an email sent straight after the big day.
