Susan and Jim, Close House

Jim and Susan chose to follow their traditions of a Chinese wedding, while also including elements from traditional British weddings, think of it as east meets west.

Loud gongs and drums marked the start of the procession from the grooms home to collect his bride.

Susan’s parents home became the venue for the traditional tea ceremony.

The couple present the Bride’s family with cups of tea as a sign of respect and thanks for her upbringing.

Mimicking a rowing boat filled with Chinese fishermen, or women in this case, Jim takes his bride home to his parents home. Everyone was shouting and cheering, the drum was beating and everyone was having a great time. The neighbors even came to their front doors to take a peek at the procession.

The gorgeous Rolls Royce drove up from London especially for Susan and Jim’s wedding.

Susan’s chief bridesmaid Yasmin fits her veil in place.

The bridal shoes and Susan’s beautiful Swarovski crystal necklace.

Her bouquet contained ivory roses each with an aurora borealis crystal in the centre and sprigs of rosemary to add a fresh scent.

All eyes were on Susan as she walked down the aisle looking very elegant.

They both took a little walk around the grounds of Close house.

Sitting n front of the large greenhouse, Jim and Susan look out towards their guests waving and cheering.

They head off to china town in Newcastle for their Chinese banquet

Jim’s parents enjoy the speeches, which happen during the meal as guest enjoy the 12 courses provided to them.

The start to the second banquet. Friends here again mimic the rowing boat from this morning, cheering and singing as they take Jim and Susan around the room.

Susan dresses into a beautiful blue lace gown for her forth outfit of the day.

A karaoke encourages family and friends up to sing.

Back to Jim’s parents home, the tea ceremony begins, with tea presented to the grooms family. The eldest relative customary presents gold to close family and the couple.

The atmosphere was incredible.

A quick trip back to Close house to release fire lanterns in memory of passed loved ones.

Thank you Susan and Jim for an incredible day, we shall look forward to seeing you all at Keith and Manyee’s wedding later this year.
