Sammy and Michael, Derwent Manor

Now we are well into the busy wedding season, finding the time to do a little blogging has been hard. We have had the privilege of attending some beautiful weddings this year in some gorgeous venues and the icing on the cake – the weather has been perfect on the most part. One such wedding was that of Sammy and Michael. They chose Derwent Manor in Northumberland, the big day was the 12th April 2008.

Sammy chose a soft shade of pink to be used throughout their wedding, the colour matched her beautiful engagement ring.

The colour was also used within the bouquets which featured a variety of different flowers including Peonies for a ‘country wedding’ feel to the day.

Sammy’s preparations.

The atmosphere was light and fun during the morning, with lots of time for chat.

Nige spent his time with the lads in the morning with Michael catching a quick game of Poole before going down the main hall for their ceremony.

Michael and his best man waiting for the bride, running a little behind time.

The room was beautiful, it featured a stained glass window, statues that watched over the ceremony, an old family crest and a huge hanging chandelier. To add to the effect, Sammy and Michael also chose to use chair covers with pink organza sashes.

A gift from Sammy to Michael.

Boys will be boys huh?

Time for a few portraits of the newlyweds, starting with a quick stroll around the front of the Mannor.

The ivy covering the Mannor and the huge windows gave us a great photo op.

Very dramatic, with a perfectly timed gust of wind…

…and at the same time.

A nice casual portrait of our groom looking dashing…

… and our stunning bride looking… well stunning.

A great feature of Derwent Mannor is this walkway bedecked with fairylights, how could be not get a shot.

Sammy’s extremely talented mother Sue made a lot of the details through out their wedding, including the bridesmaids dresses, the place cards, orders of the day, menus, table plan, and the cake which had the most beautiful sugar paste roses.

The Black Jacks performance set the mood for a party.

Congratulations Sammy and Michael, and thanks again for the choccies and bubbly x
